An experienced brand, packaging, website, and editorial designer, as well as a creative director, Julia is the Chief Design Officer of Flagg Design & Co., a boutique creative collective.

Equal parts designer and strategic thought partner, she is a hands-on creative leader, guiding cross-functional teams from concept to execution. She specializes in working with founders in emerging markets and established companies seeking a refresh, transforming ideas into visually stunning, intelligent, engaging, and impactful brands.

Humanity, empathy, style, and craft are intrinsic to her work—along with a touch of irreverence when the mood fits. She leads with integrity and humor, creating design and communication that is intuitively connected to a brand’s story, values, and audience.

With a sharp editorial eye, a strong command of language, and marketing savvy, Julia’s expertise spans design and lifestyle sectors, health and wellness, consumer packaged goods, and thought leadership—often with a distinct point of view and purposeful mission.

She is the Chief Design Officer at KIKOKO, a women’s wellness company championing organic and natural products for daily well-being. In addition to running Flagg Design & Co., she was a Designer and Art Director at Chronicle Books and Creative Director for TasteBook and 7x7 Magazine in San Francisco.

Originally from the East Coast, Julia holds a BA from Hamilton College and an MFA in Design from the California College of the Arts—a master’s program in design, writing, identity, and leadership. After decades of urban dwelling, Julia currently lives amidst the wild beauty of Sonoma County, California.
